Youth Counselling Program
We have the opportunity to be a part of the healing journey of youth in our community, village and scholarship program facilitating online and in-person counselling sessions for those who are processing life hardships of abuse, neglect and identity. It is an honour to be a part of the journey of healing, health and happiness. If you would like to be a part of this very meaningful and special team providing funds for paid counselling sessions and sometimes translators or can recommend a counsellor who has a heart to help those here in Indonesia please reach out to us through our contact form link.
Sustainability Projects
In running a non-for-profit organisation, the issue of funding, despite great generosity from many individuals and churches, can be a challenge. One way in which Hohidiai seeks to overcome this challenge is through sustainability projects. Hohidiai’s chicken farm is one of those projects, aiming to produce enough eggs for people on the property to eat, and in the future, expand to meat production. The chicken shed began in January 2023 with chickens and ducks. Since then, more have been added by purchasing and raising chicks as well as using an incubator to hatch eggs from our own supply. In the first year since the laying hens started to lay, Hohidiai were able to harvest 44,518 eggs with a market value of AUD$12,720, with costs currently running at 45% of the market value of each egg produced.
Scholarship Program
Our scholarship program allows orphans and underprivileged children and young adults to attend school and further training in short courses and university degrees. These scholarships break the poverty cycle for families and futures and it is an honour to see children grow and succeed in learning. To make this possible you can sponsor a child or adult and brighten opportunities and futures for such precious ones.
Clean Drinking Water
Over a months period we have over 1,109 villagers come to share our free drinking water. This means we estimate over 13,000 visits in a year filling water gallons to provide families with clean water, preventing avoidable disease for little ones keeping them happy and healthy. Our security team at our clinic gate coordinate our community flow of visitors and patients and do a fantastic job. Thankful for our team and for precious clean water.
Early Learning Centre
The Early Learning Centre (ELC) is a place of learning, fun and safety for children ages 0-3 years. The first three years in a child’s life are a vital time of growth in all areas of development. The ELC’s educators are there to support children as they grow physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. Our goal is for the little ones to enter their early school years with a head start in academics, literacy and overall wellbeing Being cared for in a consistent, safe environment for some who don’t have consistency at home we hope shall empower our little ones in confidence and joy.
Healthcare
We operate a small inpatient hospital of 30 beds and an outpatient clinic that serves more than 1000 patients a month. We facilitate a holistic HIV-AIDS care program with home visits and comprehensive healthcare. We have a dental clinic and care for those with Leprosy, burn wounds, Diabetes, malnutrition, Tuberculosis and other health issues doing the best to provide clean, holistic and gentle care for the underprivileged of our region.
Community Education
Our community education program endevours to create safer, brighter futures preventing sexual abuse, domestic violence, trafficking and substance abuse. We facilitate interactive education sessions in schools and community groups and train teachers and leaders creating awareness and prevention as combat strategy. This project is never ending and extremely valuable in promoting healthy communities.
